Base Station switching and edge caching optimisation in high energy-efficiency wireless access network

The improvement of the energy efficiency and reduction latency are two main goals next generation Radio Access Networks (RANs). In order to achieve latter, Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) is emerging as a promising solution: it consists placement computing storage servers, directly at each Base Station (BS) these networks. For RAN efficiency, dynamic activation BSs considered an effective approach. this paper, caching feature MEC paradigm in portion heterogeneous RAN, powered by renewable generator system, batteries power grid, where micro cell deactivated case shortage. performance analysed through simulations for different traffic characteristics, well capacity caches spread it. New user association policies proposed, totally exploit technology reduce network consumption. Simulation results reveal that, thanks proposed methodologies, experienced delay consumption drop, respectively, up 60% 40%.
